Как определить где Simple, а где continuous

Last year was a good year for the firm and our sales increased considerably. 5. At present engineers and designers of that plant continually are developing and creating new products.

Алла, в приведенных вами примерах представлены несколько времен активного залога. 2 из них — в Present Simple и 1 — в Present Сontinuous.
В предложении определить время можно по глаголу. В Present Simple в утвердительных предложениях мы к глаголу прибавляем окончание -s (если подлежащее 3 лица ед.ч), в 1 и 2 лице — глагол остается без изменений. Таких предложений здесь два.
А в случае употребления Present Continuous мы используем вспомогательный глагол to be + к основному глаголу прибавляем -ing.
